About Xiaoran (Mia) Zhu
Xiaoran(Mia) is a designer and content creator, who is currently pursuing her Master's at New York University Tisch School of the Arts' Interactive Telecommunications Program(ITP).
Mia graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Marketing and two minors in Communication and Art History. She focuses on fashion, street and fine art photography, and her works were selected and published in Vogue Italia, Villanova's magazine, yearbook, and social media platform.
Demonstrating her passion for social justice and filmmaking, Mia served as a cinematographer and editor for the multimedia team at the student-run non-profit production company, Last Letter Films. The social justice documentary 'Rooted,' produced by LLF, was selected for The 14th Annual International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival.
After graduating from Villanova University, Mia's hands-on production experience extends to the fashion world, where she worked as a photo and marketing assistant at two designer brands, CARAA and Wenjüe Lu.
Now, she is exploring the intersection of art, technology, and business at ITP. Her exploration has led her through journeys within the fields of virtual production, VR, multimedia journalism and experience design.
